"Promotional films and advertising are about images meeting a story. You have to have both – without a story, no one pays attention to the images. But no doubt about it, the images are the most important thing and they have to be dead on. I often collect the images I want with a cinema vérité camera style. It means more shooting, but it's also more believable, because what you see IS real"  –  Kent Moorhead

Welcome to Tupelo was a recruitment film for doctors – the sponsor was North East Mississippi Health Services.
The film looked at what kids were doing in Tupelo – as well as showing the different medical centers.

In this ad I did for the University of Mississippi, I wanted to focus on literature, because that's what the place is known for and I found a former student, now a best-selling mystery writer to focus on. Julie Smith writes great mystery novels set in New Orleans. Oxford is best known for William Faulkner, so this was a different kind of a take on Oxford writers. We also had Morgan Freeman doing the narration, which was wonderful. The ad got a lot of national and regional play.
